Day one

Today we ran around on the internet, exploring the different aspect of web 2.0. Beside learning the what web 2.0 really is, we found a lot of good resources that can be applied to our professional career. My favorite part of the exploration exersize was creating a deck of trading cards. I started making a deck of cards for the elements of the periodic table. I feel like this could be really useful for teaching the properties of the elements to my high school/middle school science students. I tried to create a video game, but i failed. i lke the idea of creating different ways of learning things for my students. It gives the opportunity for students who learn different ways to get the information needed. The best sites that i found for these teaching resources were go2web20.net and bighugelabs.com. Both of these i found to be quite useful. We also went to Flickr, but i dont really see how that site is useful. It seems like a roundabout way to get pictures that i could easily get elsewhere.
